You also may or may not need some maps like AO. Physically based materials are likely going to give you the most "realistic" look, at least for inorganics, but may be more expensive to render. It's kind of a loaded question as it totally depends on what kind of material you're trying to represent. Turns out, nothing amazing. It's not just about the texture, it's about the shaders as well. The design is based off the engineer's level 3 sentry rocket launcher and gives a rare glimpse of what it looks like inside. The textures were painted by APesquera and slightly edited by me. The hammer design was drawn by APesquera and modelled by me (Habboi). The design stays true to the original shotgun but incorporates extra details that make it look unique. The first texture pass was done by me and it was later touched up by APesquera. The shotgun idea was drawn by APesquera and was modelled by me (Habboi). If the weapon does get put into the game I expect someone will eventually mod a "troll face" on to it." The face was added as a way of saying to other players "Here comes a Pyro, f**king run!" I made sure it was on a seperate texture sheet so the community can paint their own faces. I had also planned to add a tiny spy head charm that was tied on to one of the handle holes with a string but it caused too many clipping issues and I would have had to rig it to use jiggle bones.įinally the bottom of the extinguisher was flat and boring so I painted a face on it but my drawing skills aren't amazing so I asked a fellow artist named APesquera. The handle is based on a samurai katana's hilt, the flame is powered by an old car battery and the extinguisher nozzle has holes cut into it because I imagined the Pyro would add such a customisation. While designing the flamethrower I tried to incorporate ideas that I thought would make it appear "cool" in the eyes of the players I'm targetting. The name is a joke since the Pyro uses a flamethrower to obviously burn things and my design incorporates a modern day extinguisher as the gas cylinder. I've sent it to Valve and hopefully it will get in. A collaboration between APesquera and Habboi.Ī TF2 Pyro pack I've been working on with Apesquera for a while now.
